Mission: The IIDA NY Chapter is an inclusive community of creative and diverse professionals, industry partners and students. We celebrate design, encourage collaboration, share knowledge and advocate for the interior design community.
Vision: We elevate human-centric design to positively transform the communities we serve.
The IIDA New York Chapter is a professional networking and educational association of more than 800 member in ten specialty Forums. IIDA NY provides our member with the resources to reach expertise, knowledge and contacts. Networking events allow professionals and industry members to connect on more personal terms that encourage trust, collaboration, and innovation.
Each year, we provide relevant programs that appeal to the specific areas of practice represented by our membership and find ways to bring the group together to find a focus that historically never existed. Through the high quality of our Forum events (all of which provide CEUs) and our more general programs, IIDA NY has become a focus of energy for the community.
Thanks to a successful sponsorship campaign and profit from our annual fundraising programs, our events are subsidized by Event Sponsors and IIDA NY Industry Benefactors and Design Firm Advocates, allowing us to keep attendee registration fees affordable to students, educators, and designers.
We are pleased to support local nonprofit organizations throughout the year. Each year at Color Invasion, we collect donations of children’s pajamas and books for Pajama Program. We also choose a nonprofit as the recipient of the proceeds from our annual Sustainable Quilt Auction.
IIDA NY has supported the following organizations: Be Original Americas, The Partnership for the Homeless Furnish a Future Program, Fiver Children’s Foundation, Pajama Program, and Publicolor.
