A City Center is a group of 10 or more IIDA Members in a city who organizes and delivers programs of interest to local members. Chapter Members may attend any program offered by any City Center or Campus Center.

The Chapter Board acts as an umbrella administrative group for a City Center, which is subject to the bylaws, policies and procedures of the Chapter.

The NY Chapter includes three City Centers in Albany, Buffalo, and Rochester. Each City Center plans their own social events, CEUs, tours, and trade shows. City Centers host monthly planning meetings. Please contact the City Center Director for meeting information.

History

IIDA was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD); the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID); and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID). The goal of the merger was to create an international association with a united mission that would represent Interior Designers worldwide.
