Any student who is a current member in good standing of the IIDA New York Chapter.

SUBMISSION

Your essay is to be in response to the posed question below.

Shifts in society have always shifted demand, broadening the definition of Interior Design. Increasingly, Interior Designers are being asked to seamlessly integrate technology, user experiences, operations, branding, and various other functions outside of a traditional project scope.

With the definition of Interior Design expanding in this way, how do you think approaches to design are changing, and what is the driving force? How do these changes affect your view of interior design?

Your essay should be 750 words minimum to 2500 words maximum, formatted as a letter size PDF, and should include the following on your entry form:

  • Your Name
  • IIDA Member Number
  • Email Address
  • Telephone Number
  • School Name
  • Program Name
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Program

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Be yourself. Let your personality, creativity, and love of interior design shine throughout your essay.
  • Make a good first impression. Proofread your essay – spelling, grammar, and punctuation are important. It doesn’t hurt to have a friend review it, too.

Your essay must be submitted online by Friday, April 26th, 2019.
