DEX

Our goal is for varying design fields to discover unique crossroads about each other, unlocking unexpected moments of inspiration. 

The format of the evening takes 22 professionals (the “speakers”) from diverse corners of the design world and mixes them with small groups from the IIDA NY community in short bursts of lively, participatory discussion of creative processes and experiences.

FUTURIST FORUM

The Futurists Forum provides a venue for surfacing new ideas about the issues and trends affecting the physical workplace. Our committee continually seeks to engage emerging voices and established thought leaders to share their unique points of view on the factors impacting design.

HOSPITALITY FORUM

The hospitality forum engages discussions with professionals in similar fields and sharing of information on trends, problem-solving strategies and perspectives on current or developing areas of design practice within the hospitality segment.

INSTITUTIONAL FORUM

The institutional forum creates learning experiences outside of the typical lecture series to give designers and industry partners the opportunity to see a variety of built environments in person, while learning about the history and construction of the building.

PERSPECTIVES ADVANCING CONNECTIONS (PAC)

We aim to elevate and evolve the industry through enhancing the Perspectives and Connections between all stakeholders. With an inclusive approach, we bring people together from a multitude of disciplines to expand knowledge and break down barriers across the industry. We see value in each individual’s experiences and aim to aggregate that emotional intelligence to help solve the complex problems in our industry.

RESIDENTIAL FORUM

We are committed to representing the multi-family and single-family residential markets in New York through the perspective of design, development, construction, art, and decoration.

RETAIL FORUM

We are a collective of passionate Interior Designers and Industry Leaders who are driven to uncover and share the latest trends and insights in the Retail Industry.

HEALTHCARE FORUM

SUSTAINABILITY FORUM

The forum endeavors to encourage the use of interior design strategies that reduce negative impacts on the environment and support collaborative efforts among practitioners, educators, and industry members to design in a socially responsible way. We look to educate the public and the design community on the role of sustainable design in promoting the health and well-being of the people who inhabit the spaces we design
