Equity Council advocates for systems level change to advance racial equity in the design industry.
Our mission is to achieve accountability for a more just and equitable design industry through the Design Industry Pledge which incentivizes organizations to commit to increased cultural and racial diversity through hiring practices, education, antiracist training and transparent communication within the workplace.
Engage with local communities through design-based service programs or educational initiatives for increased community development and ownership with traditionally marginalized communities.
Evolve and expand the definition and practice of sustainable design, in its myriad meanings and applications, to better serve humanity and the planet. Honoring human-centric design, to be leaders who drive design that positively impacts both the built and natural environments and their inhabitants.
