IIDA NY Albany 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

The IIDA NY Albany 2nd Annual Golf Tournament was a successful and enjoyable event held on June 22, 2023, bringing together design community members for a fun day at Eagle Crest Golf Club. The 9-hole scramble tournament kicked off with golfers checking in at 11 AM, followed by a lively competition starting at noon. Participants enjoyed sunny weather, fun-filled play, and a strong sense of camaraderie among both seasoned golfers and beginners.

Those looking to learn the game attended a 2-hour golf lesson at 1 PM, where they got a hands-on introduction to the sport. The day also included a putting contest at 3 PM, adding a competitive yet lighthearted twist to the event.

The highlight of the day was the vibrant Happy Hour at 4:30 PM, where attendees gathered to vote on the winners of the two contests: Best Dressed Golfer and Best Dressed Pet. The Hawaiian-themed attire was on full display, with both humans and their fur-babies showcasing their creativity, while the Best Dressed Golfer took home a well-deserved prize.

Throughout the event, participants were encouraged to support Whiskers Animal Benevolent League (WABL), a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for homeless, abused, and neglected animals. WABL provides shelter, medical care, and love to animals in need, with a strong commitment to finding them loving homes. Proceeds from the tournament, along with donations for mulligans, helped raise vital funds for their continued efforts. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to contribute directly to the shelter’s wishlist, which helps provide essential supplies and items for the animals.
