The 9th Annual BuffCon
The 9th Annual BuffCon, hosted by the New York Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA NY Buffalo), took place on Thursday, September 19th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Powerhouse by Rich Entertainment Group in Buffalo, NY. This premier interior design trade show gathered industry professionals and enthusiasts to explore the latest trends, innovative products, and cutting-edge technologies in the field.
The event was a unique opportunity for the New York state design community to reconnect and rejuvenate, drawing inspiration from NeoCon and showcasing a range of designs, from furniture and accessories to flexible lighting with rich textures and romantic finishes. The venue, a renovated industrial space with natural light and vaulted ceilings, provided a perfect backdrop for networking, workshops, and live demonstrations. Notable exhibitors included QLS Lighting, Salesmaster/Roppe, VS America, Haworth, and many more.
Brittany Nowicki, Director of Buffalo City Center, shared her excitement for the event’s growth: “The design community in Buffalo has demonstrated extraordinary resilience. Since BuffCon’s inception in 2015, we’ve nearly tripled our attendance and expanded our roster of representatives. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, we’ve made a strong comeback and continue to deliver an event that our community eagerly anticipates year after year. It’s particularly exciting to see our sister chapters and communities from Rochester, Albany, and Syracuse join us, further strengthening our design connections and driving growth across the region.”
